    This is a full-length Japanese children's kimono.
    Age: Taisho period - 1920's
Condition: Good condition. This kimono displays some staining, that is normal for its age. It has no rips or tears, but has some tea stains on the fabric of the sleeves.
This is one of the rare sizes of kimono that could be worn over normal clothing, like a trendy smoking jacket. It would fit someone US size 0-2. *the sleeves would reach the forearm, which is a modern twist on how to wear a kimono.*
This could be classified as a furisode. It has long sleeves that dip far below the waist. It would have been worn by a young, unmarried girl. Perhaps on her 20th birthday, for Coming of Age Day. (if she was petite, this is a petite kimono)
This is a "chirimen" silk. Chirimen silk is a sturdier crepe-silk, the slight texture is achieved by twisting the threads during weaving. It is a bit heavier than crepe-silk, and drapes exceptionally well.
Vibrant colors dance over a creamy momoiro (Japanese peachy-pink) backdrop.
Origami, the Japanese art of paper-folding is celebrated throughout this kimono.
Japanese cranes, the symbol or longevity and happiness decorate this kimono.
Cranes swoop and soar over imperial crests and chrysanthemum blossoms.
This kimono could be worn without an obi, which is a Japanese kimono-belt. It has silk ties to keep it closed.
Please message me for detailed measurements.
The color combination is an auspicious combination, likely worn for a holiday or portrait.
This is a beautiful piece, worthy of display.
Whether you wish to wear it in the bedroom or put it on display, this one-of-a-kind kimono is a beautiful addition to any collection.
