Vintage "Kinchaku" Japanese Brocade Like Style Purse Handbag

Top half is a reddish burgundy fabric that has a texture like brocade and the pattern is Chrysanthemum. The closure is a braided drawstring.
Bottom half is wood (unknown) a black lightweight lacquered 6 sided wood box, dipped in lacquer, dried, then fabric was attached. There are air pin marks from lacquer and the lines on the bottom are the wood grain.
The handbag is fully lined with a black smooth fabric. There are no compartments. Measures approx. 7 1/2" H x 7" W x 4 1/2" D.
The handbag is unused and in beautiful condition. Handmade one of a kind. Purchased in 2002 while living in Japan.
